Starting Guidelines for Prefabricated Running Track Installation

Issuing time:2022-06-15 15:30

To set out the installation of prefabricated running track, point control measurement is of great importance. The “28 point control measurements” (shown as PIC 1) on the outside edge of the inner track border are the set values that need to be attained in order to fulfill the dimensional accuracy of a standard track.

A. Central Point

There are two central points (shown as PIC 1, CP1 and CP2). The distance from the two centers of the semicircles is 84.39±0.005. While the distance for the 12 points per semicircle (including kerb) reads 36.5±0.005.

B. Center Point to Arc of the Semicircle

Use total station or steel tape to find the control point of the arc of the semicircle with reading of 36.5m

Tolerance: ±0.005m from every control point to central point (Shown as PIC 1).

Tolerance for Point 27 and Point 28 is the tolerance for the width of the straight lanes, the tolerance is ±0.01m (shown as PIC 1)

PIC 4

After the inner arc 36.5m point is marked, the lanes of the running track can be marked with lane-by-lane by distance of 1.22m (Shown as PIC 5)

Use chalk to mark out the lane distance and then use nails to pin down the exact point. (Shown as PIC 6)

Tolerance: ±0.005m from every point to central point.

C. Control Point on Arc of the Semicircle

Use nail to mark out the center point, followed by using steel tape to measure from the center point to 36.5m;

Taking 36.5m as the radius to draw the circular arc; making marks every 0.5m
